Obituary for Alice M. Hassler
Alice M. Hassler, age 95, passed away February 25, 2009. Alice was born June 1, 1913 in Omaha, NE. She loved watching the Purple Martins come back every spring. She enjoyed crafts and providing homes for the Purple Martins. She had been a resident of Bethany Lutheran Home in Council Bluffs for two years. After her husbands death in 1957 she raised her four sons by herself. Her “boys” and their families were the most important thing in her life. She was a long-time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She retired in 1982 after 30 years with A.I. Root Company of Council Bluffs. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Alva F. Hassler, and son Duane R. Hassler. Alice will be sadly missed by her sons: Don F. Hassler and wife Kathy, Glenn Hassler and wife Betty, Alva L. Hassler and wife Cheryl; 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Cemetery: Interment to follow service at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Council Bluffs, IA.
Visitation: Visitation will be held 3-5pm, Sunday at Maher~Livingston Funeral Home.
Service: Funeral services will be held 10:30am, Monday at the funeral home
