Obituary for Eric Dustin Porter
Eric Dustin Porter, 36, of Omaha, NE, was ushered into the presence of the Lord on April 9, 2014 after a sudden illness. Eric was born in Trenton, Mo., on May 6, 1977, to Connie E. and Donald E. Porter, Jr. They later moved to Marshalltown, IA. In 1992, Eric moved to Omaha with his mother and brother, and graduated from Westside High School in 1995. He worked as an audio-visual technician for Concepts A.V. in Omaha. He married his wife, Elizabeth Stevens, on October 30, 2004 and the couple have two sons, Martin, 6, and Alexander, 3. Eric was a kind, sweet-spirited family man who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. He will be missed beyond belief by his family and friends. Eric was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. In addition to his wife and children, Eric is survived by his: mother and step-father, Connie and Ronald Burgher, of Oceanside, CA, and father and step-mother, Don and Sandy Porter, of St. Anthony, IA; 3 brothers, Kirk Porter of Los Angeles, CA, Drew Porter and Jack Porter of St. Anthony, IA; two step grandmothers, Nina Petterson, of Trenton, Mo and Coline Porter of Chillicothe, MO; and 3 step-siblings, Veronica Rosman of Omaha, Travis Burgher of Escondido, CA and Rebecca Potter of Santa Barbara, CA.
