Obituary for Forrest Edward Barker
Forrest Edward Barker, a long time resident of Nebraska, passed away on December 7, 2008 at the age of 86. He was the son of William Henry and Eva (Fawcett) Barker. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, William F., his daughter Janice Lyn, son William Lowell and previous wife Delores Citta-Barker. Survived by his present wife, Leona Carpenter-Daugherty-Barker, previous wife and mother of his children, Maralyn, son Ronald Barker and wife Nancy from Oregon, daughter Jeanne Owen and husband Michael from California, and four grandchildren, Stacy, Michael, Scott and Kimberly and two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Kiersten. Forrest attended Nebraska Wesleyan College in Lincoln and Whitworth College in Spokane. He was a farmer and a lover of animals, worked in Retail Sales, raised and showed Appaloosa Horses. Forrest appreciated and enjoyed the challenge and demands of farming and raising all breeds of animals, always looking for the unusual. He taught 4H and later trailered his horses with his children in tow to countless horse shows all over the western states. His love for animals lives on through his children and grandchildren. Forrest loved his ancestral roots and was very proud of his family heritage. The Lord lived in his heart; he had faith and honor and lived his life accordingly. He will be missed by many.\r\n\r\n
