They were an active family at St John Lutheran Church. George was an avid sportsman. His passion for hunting kept him actively involved with the Honk and Quack Hunting Lodge near Modale, Iowa. He also loved to fish and play golf, taking his family on annual summer vacation trips to Minnesota for weeks of outdoor enjoyment. He was preceded in death by his wife Fae, brothers Robert and Stanley, and brother-in-law Wayne Bergstrom. Survivors include his two sons, Patrick (Cindy) Brown of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Michael Brown of Honolulu, Hawaii; one granddaughter, Katie Brown of Bettendorf, Iowa; sisters-in-law Lenora Brown of Marshalltown, Iowa and Reta Bergstrom of University Place, Washington; six nieces, two nephews, and several grand nieces and nephews.
