Obituary for Gordon L. Spidell
Gordon Lee Spidell, age 79, passed away February 4, 2022 in Council Bluffs, Iowa surrounded by his family.
Gordon was born March 21, 1942, to late Clyde and Frances (Huff) Spidell in Nebraska City, Nebraska. He married Sally Swanger on August 3, 1962. Gordon worked for many years with the Railroad, lugged beef in Omaha and later became a Mortensen Supermarket can man. He also served on the Council Bluffs Police Reserves and was a member of Southside Christian Church.
Gordon is preceded in death his wife, Sally; granddaughter Ashley Reed; brother, Ronnie Spidell.
Survivors include children, Sally and Bart Gochenour, Kandi Spidell and Darrell Harris, Jacquelyn Archer and Mike McGallian, Anthony and Angie Spidell, Stacy Spidell, Betsy and John Spidell-Hernandez; 26 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Achenbach, Betty King; other loving family and friends.
Services Saturday 12:00 p.m. at the Southside Christian Church 1919 South 10th Street. Visitation staring 11:00 a.m. prior at the church. Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Family will direct memorials.
