Obituary for Leila J. Volz
Leila J. Volz, age 94, of Council Bluffs passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.
She was born on May 15, 1927 on the family farm in Lindsay, NE to the late Louie Aloys and Marie Harriette (Lee) Otterpohl. Leila married Robert Charles Volz on September 14, 1948. She was a Farm wife. Leila belonged to St. Patrick Catholic Church; Farm Bureau, Toastmasters and Mission of the 72.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Volz in 2005; son Larry Volz; 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Leila is survived by 3 sons, George and Deb Volz of Carson, Iowa; Ricky and Connie Volz of Council Bluffs; Patrick Volz of Pueblo, CO.; daughter, Judy and Curt Rhine of Blandon, PA.; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, LuAnn and Ken Kersey of Edgewater, Fla.; nieces, nephews and several other relatives.
Funeral Service on Saturday at 11:00AM at Maher Funeral Home, 121 So. 7th street. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Cremation to follow the service. Memorials to St. Jude's for Children or Open Door Mission.
