Obituary for Norma J. Sarten
Norma J. Sarten, age 83, of Council Bluffs passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Mercy Hospital.
She was born on October 2, 1937 in Council Bluffs to the late John and Helen (Haddix) Haynes. Norma married William Sarten in April 1969. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at St. Joseph Villa retiring in 2014.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, William Sarten in 2001; 2 sons, Glenwood Baker; Robert Baker; 3 brothers; 2 sisters. Norma is survived by 3 daughters, Donie Osborn of Creston; Betty Gardels of Omaha; Deloris Sarten of Council Bluffs; 2 sons, Bernard Baker of Webster City, Iowa; Frank and Lisa Baker of Bellevue, NE; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Rodna Nelson of California; niece, Linda Simbro of Sweet Springs, MO; other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation with family on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00PM at Maher Funeral Home. Funeral service of Friday at 11:00AM at the Funeral Home. Burial in Ridgewood Cemetery. Family will direct memorials.
