Obituary for Patricia Marie Reicks
Patricia Reicks passed away at home in Council Bluffs on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Pat was born in Omaha, NE on December 9, 1936 to Edward and Dora (Backman) Ellis. As a child, she had lived in Grand Pass, MO and Arma, KS. She married her husband Walter Reicks in 1957. They moved to Petersburg, NE to the family farm before moving to Council Bluffs where they lived for 50 years. She worked full time and retired from Iowa School For The Deaf. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Walter, sisters Marie Antoinette (Bussua) Palaster, Johanna (Muellner) Craft, Deloris (Goodhart) DeVeney, Darlene (Ellis) Stevens; brothers Fred Goodhart and Edger Ellis. Patricia is survived by her brother John Goodhart, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She and Walter loved and cherished their nephew Michael Stevens. She loved and was loved by all of her extended family. She and Walter were exemplary people. They worked for and earned everything they had, never asked for a handout, respected others, and would help friends and family in need.
