Obituary for Patricia Patterson
Patricia W. Patterson, 77, of Omaha, Nebraska, and formerly of Clarinda, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the home of her daughter. Patricia was born in Youngstown, OH on October 13, 1937, to S. Bruce Willson and Doris (Owens) Willson. Patricia attended grade school in Bloomington, IN, junior high and high school in Greeley, CO, and then graduated from Wilkinsburg High School in Pittsburgh, PA. She also attended Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. On April 17, 1959, Patricia married David R. Patterson. For many years, Patricia was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America (RPCNA) including congregations in Wilkinsburg, PA; Idana (Hebron), KS; Morning Sun (Sharon), IA; Winchester, KS; and Clarinda, IA. In more recent years, when she was able, she attended Prairie Lane Christian Reformed Church in Omaha, NE. For 14 years she was a typesetter and proofreader for the Patterson Press which produced various publications associated with the Reformed Presbyterian Church including the Covenanter Witness, Christian Statesman, Blue Banner Faith and Life, Christian Patriot, and Minutes of Synod. When in Clarinda, IA Patricia worked at the Clarinda Company for 20 years as a proofreader and doing mark-up for the typesetting and formatting of various books. Upon moving to Omaha, NE she worked at Physicians Mutual Insurance doing data entry and later at Kutak Rock as a proofreader. Pat enjoyed cross stitching and making baby blankets, many of which went to Assure Women’s Center and Essential Pregnancy Services both in Omaha, NE. She enjoyed family gatherings, lunch out with friends, and had a long time tradition of stuffing big red Christmas stockings with many fun and practical gifts for her children and grandchildren. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her three children, Ron Patterson and wife, Mary Lou, of Merriam, KS; Ken Patterson of Fairfax, VA; and Debbie Gum and husband, J.C., of Omaha NE; seven grandchildren; brother, Don Willson and wife, Sarah, of Beaver Falls, PA; brother Bob Willson and wife, Joanne, of Pittsburgh, PA; nieces; nephews and many friends.
