Obituary for Patsy Ruth Burns
Patsy Ruth Burns, age 86, of Council Bluffs, IA, passed away January 24, 2012 at Bellevue Medical Center (Bellevue, NE). Patsy was born August 15, 1925 in Nebraska City, NE to Carl and Pearl (Cooney) Sheridan who preceded her in death. Patsy worked for 26 years as the head of the Child Support Enforcement Department for the Douglas Co. Clerk of Court (Omaha, NE). Patsy was also a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William Charles (Bill) Burns, Sr.; sons Thomas Joseph Burns and William Charles Burns, Jr.; brother Emmett Sheridan, who died in a W.W.II concentration camp, brother Carl Sheridan and step father Charles Slack. Patsy is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Schweer and husband John; 6 grandchildren, Lori (Nielsen) Brewer, Shannon (Burns) Fifer, Michelle Burns, Wendy (Burns) Schweiss, Patrick Burns and Jill (Nielsen) Misciskia. 11 great grandchildren, Morgon Schlotzhauer, Joslyn Schweiss, William Brewer, Jarod Misciskia, Megan Fifer, Caleb Brewer, Billy Fifer, Elijah Brewer, Lillian Misciskia, Ryland Schweiss, and Tobey Misciskia; daughter-in-law Gail Burns; and lifetime best friend Lois Gruber of Nebraska City, NE.
