Randall G. Steward, age 61, of Council Bluffs passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at his home.
Randy was born on August 12, 1962 in Council Bluffs to Gerald and Nancy (Neighbors) Steward.
Randy enjoyed fast pitch softball, as a pitcher he was fortunate to be able to play both with his father and his son in his younger years as his Grandfather watched. Bowling with the buddies and family were a great evening out, city & state tournaments and banquets to celebrate. He loved spending time with his boys playing video games and coaching the soccer teams, watching the Hawkeyes play football and the college world series games or a bonfire in the backyard. Mostly he enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and just being in nature, the wilderness and with wildlife.
Over the years Randy had many jobs, welding doors for Johnson Hardware, later becoming a Construction site superintendent with various companies and finally as an estimator at Specialty Fabricating.
Randy always saw his main responsibility as taking care of and protecting his family and he did so with his entire being. His children and granddaughter were a source of pride for him, and he deeply respected the adults they have become. Friends were never friends for long, for friends are the family we choose and if you were a friend, you are family.
Randy will be missed and remembered lovingly. As he would want we will hold our heads high, smile and carry on.
Randy was preceded in death by his son, Garion Steward; mother, Nancy Steward. Survivors include his wife, Gabrielle Steward of Council Bluffs; 3 sons, Mike Steward; Rory Steward and Kevin Steward all of Council Bluffs; granddaughter, Madison and Garret Gibby of Valley, Texas; father, Jerry Steward and sister, Toni Steward all of Council Bluffs.
Celebration of Life Visitation on Sunday, from 11:00AM – 1:00PM at Maher Funeral Home. Cremation. Family will direct memorials.
