Obituary for Robert Wayne Warner, Sr.
Robert Wayne Warner, Sr., age 99, of Council Bluffs, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Robert was born March 13, 1920, in Council Bluffs, to the late Carl and Emma (Norgard) Warner. He served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Robert worked for the United States Postal Service as a Postal Clerk for 39 years, retiring in 1983. Robert married Clara Chmelka on May 16, 1950. He was of Presbyterian Faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara in 2002; brother, Richard Payne and sister, Jean Kay.
He is survived by sons, Dr. Robert Warner, Jr., and wife Susan, Dr. Richard Warner and wife Barbara; grandchildren Charles Draeger, Curtis Draeger, Dr. Christine Warner, Michael Warner (Nicole), Rose Warner, Steven Warner (Tara), Lindsay Wright (Trevor); 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Rosemary Smith and Carol Burheme; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
