Obituary for Shirley H. Hurd
Shirley H. Hurd, age 80, was reunited with her husband Gene on April 18, 2010 after a 24 year battle with cancer.
Shirley was born May 11, 1929 to the late Carl and Olive May (McCoy) Hutchens. She graduated from T.J. High School in 1947. She enjoyed square dancing, water skiing, and email friends and family. She was a member of Wings Of Hope. She worked in the purchasing department for U. P. Railroad.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Leo Eugene Gene Hurd (1994), daughter: Lori Jean Owens, and son-in-law: Terry Handley.
Shirley will be sadly missed by her daughters: Lynn Handley and Lona Wynne and husband Larry, grandson: Steven Handley and wife Shannon all of Council Bluffs, grandson Scott Handley and wife Allyson, great-granddaughter: Samantha Handley, all of Muskegon, Michigan host of family and friends.

Cemetery: Graveside service will be held at 3:00pm, Thursday at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Council Bluffs.
Visitation: Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:00pm, Thursday at Maher-Livingston Funeral Home.
