Obituary for Walter Reicks
Walter F. Reicks, 79, formerly of Petersburg, NE passed away Tuesday February 26, 2013 at his home in Council Bluffs where he lived with his wife of 56 years Patricia. Walter was born on November 30, 1936 to Ben and Hilda (Bierman) Reicks. Walter served two years in the Army in France as an electrician. Walter married Patricia Ellis on February 23, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Omaha. They farmed for two years in Petersburg before moving to the Omaha area. Walter was preceded in death by his brothers Bernard and Alfred; sisters Germaine and Bernice all of Petersburg. Besides his wife Patricia he is survived by his brothers Linus (Butch) and his wife Candice of Broomfield, CO; sister Monica and husband Dale of Perham, MN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who knew him as Unc, including Michael who he treated like a son. Walter was a proud man who worked hard for everything he earned. He retired as a respected journeyman and supervisor in the flat roof trade.
Cemetery: Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Rainbow Post #2.
