Wayne E. Matuszeski, 71, of Council Bluffs passed away at his home May 24, 2009 after a long illness.
Wayne was born on June 4, 1937 in Council Bluffs to the late Alice (Myers) Matuszeski, Wayne Myers, Sr. and step father Joe Matuszeski. Also preceded in death by his sister Barb Stiles and his aunt Dorothy Hollinger. Wayne touched so many lives with his sense of humor, wisdom and love. He served in the USAF from 19554 to 1958. He was co-owner of Safe Way House Movers in the 1960s after which he was self-employed for numerous years.
He is survived by his wife Rose, the love of his life for 20 years and his 11 beloved children: Chris Barnhart and husband John of Omaha, Doug Matuszeski and his wife Susie of Omaha, Ellen Tauge and husband Terry of Council Bluffs, John Matuszeski and wife Mary of Omaha, Rob Matuszeski and wife Penny of Council Bluffs, Trevor Templeman and wife Kelli of Iowa City, Mike Matuszeski and wife Stacy of Kansas City, Tiffany Matuszeski and Nick Matuszeski of Council Bluffs and Stacy and Natalie Krula of Omaha. Wayne has 23 grandchildren and two great granddaughters.

The family would like to thank Dr. DeVoss, The Iowa Heart Center doctors, Dr. Alvarez and the 3rd floor nurses at Jennie Edmundson for all they did and a special thanks to Ascera Care Hospice. Flowers or memorials may be sent to the Maher-Livingston Funeral Home.
