Obituary for Dale E. Carlson
Dale E. Carlson, age 89, of Red Oak passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at his residence.
Dale was born on February 14, 1931 in Red Oak, Iowa to the late Carl and Elva (Purcell) Carlson. He served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Dale married Carolyn Cary on December 31, 1951. He worked in Carpentry, then later Farmed until retiring in 2018. Dale was a Montgomery County Supervisor; a member of American Legion Post #0067 in Red Oak. He enjoyed farming, carpentry work; helping others; vegetable and flower gardening and family.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Carlson in 2017; great-granddaughter, Lindsey Fisher; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
He is survived by daughter, Pat Carlson of Oskaloosa, Iowa; sons, Rick and Esther Carlson of Red Oak; Randy Carlson of Salt Lake City, Utah; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister-in-law and husband, Marlene and Curt Adams of Omaha.
Dale’s wishes were to be cremated. Graveside of cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak at a later date. Family will direct memorials.
