Obituary for Darrell E. Abbett
Darrell E. Abbett, age 83, of Council Bluffs passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Darrell was born on April 2, 1938 in Troy, Kansas to the late Lloyd and Thelma (Higgins) Abbett. He served his country in the US Army. Darrell moved to Council Bluffs in 1948. He worked as a custodian and greeter for Walmart for 20 plus years. Darrell married Laura Wright on May 1, 1976.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, Michael Thramer in 2020; brother, Toby Abbett.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Laura Abbett of Council Bluffs; stepsons, Richard Thramer of Council Bluffs; Daniel Thramer of Omaha; daughter, Karen Peters of Omaha; 3 nephews, John Walsh, Rich Walsh and Brian Walsh; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister Barbara Walsh of Omaha.
Funeral Service on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 1:00PM at Maher Funeral Home. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will direct memorials.
