Obituary for Franklin Dale Quakenbush
Franklin Dale Quakenbush, age 86, of Council Bluffs passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Northcrest Living Center.
Dale was born on January 21, 1933 in Vermillion, Kansas to the late John F. and Lena (Thayer) Quakenbush. Dale served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Dale worked as an Insurance Agent for American General Insurance. Dale also was a Barber, and worked for Council Bluffs Water Works. Dale enjoyed playing guitar, pinochle and bridge; also enjoyed fishing with his wife Verlie, daughter Laura, grandson Matthew and brother Roy.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Verlie Quakenbush; brothers, Sam, Paul, Leo and Ray.
Survivors include son, Clayton Quakenbush; daughter, Laura Suess; 3 grandsons, Michael, Matthew and Daniel Quakenbush; great grandson, Myzael Quakenbush; brother, Roy Quakenbush; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Open Door Mission, Salvation Army or Humane Society of Council Bluffs.
