Obituary for Arvella Camp
Arvella Avis Camp, age 87 of Council Bluffs entered into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ on April 29, 2014. Arvella (Arzie) was born in a log cabin in Emerson, IA on August 8, 1926. In April of 1945, she travelled to Nellie Jaun, Alaska with her parents and worked there for the summer. The following year, she started work for Woodmen of The World Insurance Company and stayed for the next eight years. On August 3, 1952 she was united in marriage to Delmar L. Camp at First Baptist Church of Council Bluffs. They were blessed with four children. Arzie loved children and was involved in the Foster Grandparents program for the Council Bluffs School district for many years. In February 2004 she received the “Award of Excellence” from Iowa Gov. Thomas Vilsack for her contribution in making an outstanding and positive difference in the lives of Iowa children. Arzie loved the arts, especially the theatre when her children were involved. A lifelong member of First Baptist Church, she was active in the choir and taught Sunday school for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband Delmar L. Camp and her eldest daughter Deborah Lynn, daughter-in-law Susan Camp and granddaughter Carol Camp. Arzie is survived by sons Terry Camp of Leadhill, AK, Kevin Camp of Omaha; daughter Dawn Clark and husband David of Council Bluffs; sister and brother-in-law Jo and Jim Cavanaugh of Council Bluffs; granddaughters Jennifer Hubbard, Alana Clark Willand and husband Josh; grandsons Nicholas Hubbard and Matthew Clark; great-grandson Cailen Hubbard and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Cemetery:
Graveside committal at 1:30 p.m. at North Grove Cemetery in rural Hastings, IA.
